Design Center

Welcome to the Rouse Chamberlin Homes Design Center.
Here, in the Design Center, new home buyers can see their options ALL in one place. Other new home builders offer just a few real samples of cabinets or counter surfaces. The rest have to be selected from extremely small chips or printed samples. And that's a shame. A home is the most expensive purchase you are likely to make. You will be living with the selections within your home for years to come. You deserve to make the best decisions possible, and that means full size samples and seeing options in context.
Rouse Chamberlin Homes is one of the few builders to offer a full Design Center. We're proud of that commitment to our buyers and their ultimate satisfaction. Our services are free to Rouse Chamberlin home buyers.
The Design Center is open by appointment only. We want to make sure that you get the individualized time and attention that YOU deserve to make your very important selections. We also ask that you arrange for child care during your appointment, likewise please arrange to leave your pets home. We love children and animals as much as you do. However, if your attention is split, you'll find it difficult to make these important selections for your new home.
We'd love to show you an overview of our Design Center right now. Remember that when you actually come INTO the Center, we'll be showing you more detail and spending much more time with you. This IS just an overview. Let's start our Design Center Tour in our Exterior Gallery.
EXTERIOR COLORS, OPTIONS & FEATURES
Your Design Center experience starts in our Exterior Gallery with the color and finish options of your home. Starting right at the top you can see a display of the roof finish your home will have. You will also see optional metal porch roof displays that can be selected if your elevation allows. Once you've decided your preference here, you'll next select your home's exterior color scheme.
In the Design Center, you will see actual exterior wall samples made of stone and stucco. That helps you to better visualize how it would appear on your home. You can also see brick, siding and shutter color samples. Our displays allow you to mix and match samples to see the color-on-color combinations exactly as they would appear on your own home and see the stone or stucco next to the shutter and siding colors.
Once you've made these first selections, you are well on your way to creating your ultimate dream home. A few more choices and you will have completed your home's exterior selections.
EXTERIOR LIGHTING & WINDOWS
Our exterior lighting fixtures show you the selections available from the electrician in the context of an outside wall. Again, you can see them in close proximity to actual wall samples and the in-person colors of the vinyl and shutters to pull your color scheme together.
While it might seem like a joke to call windows a transparent feature, they often are. That's because most of the time, people are looking through them instead of at them. But in the Design Center, you can see them for what they really are: an integral part of your home design.
You can see the windows from both the inside and outside perspectives, at actual height and with optional features. These window options can be chosen when you make your structural selections with your sales manager.
Next, let's look at the Kitchen Cabinets.
KITCHEN CABINETS
The Design Center offers over 1000 combinations of woods, door style, colors and finishes. Sounds like too many to make sense of, right? Don't worry. We've made it easy for you to pick the perfect combination for your home.
First, you won't have to look through thousands of samples. You'll start by looking at the samples for the type of wood that you like. At the same time, you'll also be keeping an eye on the different door styles and colors. After you make those selections, you'll identify a finish that will offer your selection the perfect compliment.
Here's where the large surface samples come in handy. You can bring them back and forth to find what combination seems just right. Because a beautiful kitchen is all about how everything fits.
Then, if you've chosen a cabinet style that includes knobs, you can select from the variety of styles and colors available. And before you know it, you've narrowed the over 1,000 options down to the perfect combination for your kitchen.
Next, let's take a look at counter surfaces
KITCHEN COUNTER SURFACES
The selections for your kitchen may be the most important of ANY that you will make for your home. That's because if your family is like most, your kitchen will be the most trafficked room in your home. The kitchen is a natural meeting spot for meals and general "hanging around".
Surface colors and textures will be an important part of your kitchen feel. For that reason, we offer 4 different counter surfaces from which to select. That includes over 75 colors of Formica, the most common and least expensive surface. We also offer dozens of Corian and Zodiaq options, more durable man-made surfaces which offer a thicker base and can even be repaired with sanding to remove light or moderate scratches. Granite is a favorite among home owners for its beauty and durability. It is currently extremely cost effective and available in a total of 16 different selections.
When you do select granite, Corian or Zodiaq, the come packaged with upgraded sink, faucet and choice of edge, to better complement the surface you select. That's a great value!
To help you better select the surface and color combinations, you can see and touch large size samples. Small samples and printed reproductions that other builders typically use make it nearly impossible to get a feel for how everything will fit together. These large samples give your greater confidence in your choices and make the decision-making process easier.
Next, let's take a look at Kitchen appliances.
KITCHEN APPLIANCES
It would be impossible to show every single appliance option we offer for your Rouse Chamberlin Homes kitchen...so we did the next best thing. We reproduced four completely different kitchens in our Design Center, complete with counter surfaces, cabinets and appliances.
This way, you can see an example of several of the appliance levels and their specific features. You can also get an idea of the different finishes available and how they would fit with your cabinet and surface samples.
Whether your appliance preference is electric or optional gas, we can tell you that we are proud to feature GE appliances for their reliability, function and design.
Now that your kitchen is almost complete let's take a look at bathrooms.
BATHROOMSOur Bathroom Gallery offers a large number of choices.
The vanity includes selections on the cabinet wood, the cabinet height and the surface, cultured marble available in 9 colors and granite available in 6 colors. Most homeowners go to a little more extravagance in the master bath, but the choice of whether to upgrade or not is totally yours.
Vinyl flooring has come a long way over the past several years. Some options look so much like tile, it's hard to tell them apart. That gives you a tile look for a lower cost. But if you WANT tile in the bathrooms that's fine also. We offer several options and we tile both the master bathroom floor and shower wall and the hall bathroom floors for a single price.
Bathroom lighting is actually a part of the overall interior lighting packages we offer. That way, it coordinates throughout your home. Which also makes your selection process much easier.
That bring us to Lighting Fixtures and Door Hardware.
LIGHTING AND DOOR HARDWAREForget about builder brass...that is so 1980s. We're proud to offer satin chrome as our builder standard for door knobs and a mix of chrome and nickel as our standard lighting fixtures. Plus we offer four door hardware and hinge package upgrades and four interior lighting options as upgrade packages. If you do decide to upgrade either Lighting or Door Hardware.
So you might ask: why not offer more options? The answer is really simple - people never select them. 95% of our homebuyers select these packages and for good reasons: they are high quality, they look great, AND they wear well. So we've created our lighting and door hardware options based on current trends. You can see all of the options on display in the Design Center.
We should mention this: our builder grade supplies are higher quality than the hardware or materials you can typically buy at a local hardware or supply business. Even when they are from the same manufacturer. That's an important fact to remember as you make your selections.
From here, we should probably talk a little about flooring.
FLOORING
It may well be the last thing you actually look at, but flooring is an important element in your home. It completes the texture of a room and adds personality. It offers room breaks where there are no walls, and connects living areas separated by them. It offers color as a complement. It offers a specific tactile response to those who wear shoes and those going without, even as it blends into the background.
Hardwood options are displayed throughout the kitchen areas to show how the different colors and plank widths create a feeling and fit with the other surfaces. In all, we offer dozens of wood floor options.
Vinyl flooring is featured both in use and on large samples to demonstrate just how many options you really have and how great they look. Once you see these actual samples, you'll never look at vinyl as "second choices" again.
Color. Texture. Style. Rugs represent all three. We display over 100 large rug samples so you can coordinate the colors and textures of your home and complete your design.
CONCLUDING YOUR TOURHopefully, you can see the difference a Design Center can make in the purchase and planning of your home. Having every feature and every option, in one place where you can see it, feel it and combine it with the other options you have is empowering. Honestly, we have no idea how people can make these important decisions without an actual Design Center.
As with every room, you can choose upgrades as YOU see make sense. You can create an amazing looking home with no upgrades if that's what you want. Options are just that: options. And it's great to have a lot of them.
We hope that after this overview, you consider a Design Center as a must have for your new home construction. And I hope that you'll consider a Rouse Chamberlin quality-built home for your next purchase.
